From prompt to people

1

A daily question for the city

At 8AM, everyone in Bangalore gets the same prompt. Something simple. Something thoughtful. People answer publicly. You read how strangers think.

Today's Prompt
You're hosting dinner for someone you've never met. What's on the playlist?
Responses
"Nusrat, low volume. Let the conversation breathe."
"90s Tamil film songs. Non-negotiable."
"Jazz. I want them to think I'm interesting before I open my mouth."

Discover people through their answers

No selfies. No follower counts. No performative profiles. Just short answers that show you how people actually think.

If someone's answer surprises you, reply. A conversation starts.

Meet in groups of 6 across the city

Every week, Somo organizes small meetups across Bangalore — cafes, walks, conversation games, dinners. Always six people.

You arrive already knowing how people think. You skip the small talk.

The people are the product

Every morning, the same question goes out to the whole city.

You read how strangers think. You find the ones who surprise you.

Then you actually meet them. That's the whole thing.

"You actually meet people you'd never otherwise talk to."
— Somo member, HSR Layout

Common questions

Is Somo a dating app?

No. Somo is for meeting interesting people near you — over dinner, walks, and conversations. What happens after is up to you.

Are there online events?

Yes. You can join both online conversation circles and in-person meetups.

Why groups of 6?

We ran 10+ pilots and found 6 is the number where everyone gets heard but the energy stays alive. Small enough to go deep, big enough to surprise you.

How much does it cost?

Most events average around ₹300 per ticket.

Tomorrow morning at 8AM, the city gets a new question.

You could be reading how strangers think by breakfast. Join the conversation.
