Your first event

Meeting strangers should not feel like a leap of faith.

SoMo removes the parts that usually make a social event awkward or uncertain.

1

Designed for coming alone

You do not need to bring a friend or break into an existing group. Everyone begins the experience together.

6

Always a small group

Six is large enough for variety and small enough for everyone to participate without competing for airtime.

The app guides the room

Playful games and prompts create momentum naturally. Nobody has to perform as a host or force conversation.

Connection stays mutual

After the event, connect in the app only with people who also want to stay in touch.

How SoMo works

Pick a plan. Show up. Let the experience do the rest.

1

Choose what fits

Browse the date, time, neighbourhood, format and price. Book only when an event genuinely works for you.

2

Meet a group of six

Arrive on time and open the app. The group moves through the experience together, from easy icebreakers to better conversation.

3

Keep the people you clicked with

Share feedback, exchange compliments and connect after the event when the interest is mutual.

Choose your kind of social

Different experiences. The same promise: good people and a reason to talk.

The catalogue can keep changing, so repeat events do not have to feel repetitive.

Cafés, dinners and slow socials

Thoughtful small-group experiences with enough structure to make meeting easy.

Games and playful conversation

App-guided experiences built to create laughter, stories and equal participation.

Listening rooms and online circles

Lower-friction ways to experience the community before or between in-person plans.

Get a feel for the people before you meet them.

Every morning, SoMo members answer the same question. You discover people through humour, curiosity and the way they think—not through follower counts or polished profiles.

The daily prompt is the bridge. The real-world connection is the point.

Today's prompt
You're hosting dinner for someone you've never met. What's on the playlist?
“Nusrat, low volume. Let the conversation breathe.”
“90s Tamil film songs. Non-negotiable.”
“Jazz. I want them to think I'm interesting before I open my mouth.”
Find your people, not everybody

The right community begins with a clear boundary.

SoMo is for you when…

  • You want genuine new friendships, not another follower list.
  • You are curious about people outside your usual circles.
  • You are willing to show up on time, participate and stay for the full experience.
  • You like a mix of playfulness, stories and occasional depth.

SoMo is not for…

  • ×Dating-style solicitation or treating every interaction as a romantic lead.
  • ×Professional pitching, selling or collecting contacts.
  • ×Asking for phone numbers or social handles before meeting at an event.
  • ×Spectating without respecting the group’s time, comfort and participation.
Comfort and safety

Thoughtful by design—not left to chance.

Meeting new people should feel exciting, not exposing.

Meet as a group

Events begin as a small shared experience rather than a high-pressure one-to-one meeting.

Limited public identity

Illustrated avatars, initials and less emphasis on appearance help personality lead.

Mutual connections

After the event, continued contact happens through mutual choice inside the app.

Clear community rules

No creepy behaviour, contact harvesting, solicitation or disregard for another person’s boundaries.

What members say

The feeling is difficult to describe. They tried anyway.

“Some events help me skip small talk and befriend new people over a shared experience. Every event I've attended has been exciting, light-hearted with a touch of depth, and overwhelmingly earnest.

The questions people usually have

Can I come alone?

Yes. The entire format is designed for people who do not already know the group. You arrive alone, but you do not have to navigate the room alone.

What exactly happens at an event?

You meet five other people and use the SoMo app to move through guided games, prompts and shared activities. The tone begins light and becomes more meaningful naturally.

Is there a human host?

The experience is product-led: the app guides the group so one person does not dominate or carry the event. Support is available when something goes wrong.

Is SoMo a dating app?

No. SoMo is intentionally for friendship and community. Dating-style solicitation, pitching and asking strangers for contact details before meeting do not belong here.

How much does it cost?

Most events start around ₹300. The exact price is visible before booking, along with date, time, location and available spots.

Where do events happen?

Events currently run across selected Bangalore neighbourhoods, including HSR Layout, Indiranagar, Jayanagar, Koramangala, Lavelle Road and Whitefield.

What if I am introverted or nervous?

You do not need to be loud or instantly charismatic. Small groups and guided turns create room for quieter people to participate without fighting for attention.

How do I join the private beta?

First, request an invite on WhatsApp. We will send you an invite code. Then download the SoMo app, enter the code during signup, and complete onboarding. Downloading the app by itself does not provide access.

Can I see events before requesting an invite?

Yes. Open the upcoming-events page to see available formats, dates, neighbourhoods and prices before deciding whether SoMo feels right for you.

Your next circle does not have to look like your old one.
